GDevelop Template – Music Jukebox ver 1.0 out now!
9th September 2024GDevelop ver 5.4.210 was recently released, including my first FREE contribution to the engine: the Music Jukebox!
So… funny story, this template only got made because:
- 1.) It got over 1k likes on Twitter/X somehow, becoming my most-liked tweet to date
- 2.) Because of the tweet, someone from GDevelop reached out and suggested that I should make my project into a template
I just want to clarify that I’m pretty sure anyone can make a GDevelop template and contact the right channels for it to be submitted to GDevelop, though it’s nice to know who to contact in the future.
I was gonna make Avadee the mascot for this template, but because anyone and everyone can have access to this template, I opted to make a new character with her own license usage (more on that below)
Her name is Lillian and her design came together quite quickly, I would love to try and iterate more on her design as I feel she hasn’t quite reached her full potential just yet. More than likely, Lillian be my primary mascot when it comes to some more projects I have planned on the backburner (if you know me by now, this is like my 20th thing on my backlog of things to do so don’t hold your breath)
I did simplify the music template compared to the original Gat-Pon OST music player, as I wanted everyone who looks at the template logic to understand what they are looking at and not get blindsided by the useless flashy clutter, though if enough people are interested, then I’d make another version that’s closer to the one seen with the Gat-Pon OST music player with even more features. Please lemme know down below if that’s something you’d like to see.
