Ursula – The Spy Princess

When an obscure character design goes hard for a Rayman game ?

The reason for thinking about Ursula is because got consumed by a Rayman Rabbid hole on YT, and now here we are!
The last time I drew this character was back in 2017 when I played Rayman Legends for the first time on the Nintendo Wii U and loved it. It’s nice to use this artwork as a reference point to see how my art has evolved through the years.

I currently own Rayman Legends for the Nintendo Switch but haven’t given it a spin yet. I maybe should change that soon.

I’ve noticed I haven’t done many proper illustrations or animations for my 2024 portfolio so I thought I’d change that. The main culprit for this is that I’ve been mostly developing games and apps.

I’ve also been focusing on my new job that I got back in May this year where I get to use GDevelop to teach game development to students! It’s a super fun job and I hope I get to do it for longer! I’ve casually mentioned this on stream but this is the first time I’ve mentioned it on my blog.

Another reason why my illustration portfolio is looking a bit dry is that I’ve been mostly sketching rather than making complete pieces (I’m currently conflicted about whether to add the sketches or not to my portfolio, so I’ll add them here instead as thanks for listening to me ramble)

Been hard at work recently, working on Lulabea’s Bubble Drop, it shouldn’t be too long till the update is available to the public.
