I made a new website – teckgeck.link
15th November 2024Salutations, this will be a short post this time around.
In just three straight days, I made a linktree/landing page using Wix because I have too many hobbies and socials, not to mention two websites with separate audiences. (apart from the rare few that are both, you guys are the coolest!)
If you’ve been around on this site since 2020, then you’d know that TECKGECK.COM was the original linktree/landing page before it became my blogging/portfolio/e-commerce site, so I’ve kinda come full circle in that regard.
You’re probably wondering why I made a whole new site and didn’t stick with TECKGECK.COM. Simple, my UI/UX muscles were itching to make another website. Also, I’ve noticed loading on TECKGECK.COM is getting sluggish and I wanted a light website with no added bells or whistles so loading is quick and responsive. It’s also a lot quicker to design/edit buttons directly in Wix rather than making them one by one in Affinity Designer.
I’m not sure what the next thing I wanna do is. Christmas is fast approaching and my job in retail will become a living nightmare once again, came close to handing in my notice a few times already not gonna lie…
The thing is, I’m trying to force myself not to start any big projects such as work on any of my games or anything just because of the Christmas period and I need to prioritise my mental health more than anything.
While I figure out what I will start next, I think I’m gonna start getting through my game backlog. Who knows, I might get some cool game ideas while I’m playing!
