🚀 Abbi 🚀

13th July 2021 By Perri T.F. (TeckGeck)

Recently I’ve been in the mood to draw some of my older characters so here we are!

Abbi (2021)

Abbi is actually a repurposed character of mine named Aurora Girl that I created during my Game Development course at college, the only two things they share in common are that they both wear blue, have swirly hair and are retro sci-fi inspired. Other than that, they have two completely different characters.

I actually meant to make several games with Abbi, but I never got too far with any of the attempts.
The 1st attempt was meant to be a Megaman styled 2D platformer/shooter but that never left the planning stages.
The 2nd attempt was a Dreams PS4 project meant to be a 3D platformer/shooter but my idea was a little complex and the logic was too hard for me to understand so the project quickly died.
Check out my Abbi creation on indreams.me.

I specifically created Abbi to help me study retro-styled media and adapt it to my own style. Futuristic media from the early and mid-1900s wasn’t my only source of inspiration, Shane Glines and Bruce Timm’s work were also good inspiration fuel, especially with how they draw anatomy.
Seems like Abbi is also slowly dipping into Y2K territory which I’m not opposed to.

I’ve been really into typography/Logos as of late and I really want to experiment with that more, been eyeing up the Sonic Riders Logos thinking I could definitely design something with that 👀
(Actually, I did make a Sonic Riders Logo many years ago on Little Big Planet 2 but due to LPB.me currently down, I can’t get the image)

I really wanted to make a corner of my website dedicated to all my characters detailing their origins, likes, dislikes, etc. but because I’m so fickle, I don’t think I’m getting that done anytime soon, we will see 👀
