Sketchdump #001
28th August 2025Last year, I noticed that I was creating a lot of sketches, and I didn’t want to lump them together with my Art Portfolio pieces. My art took a hit mainly because I was more focused on game & web development (I still am currently).
To fix this issue, I decided to create a dedicated page to store all my sketches; however, this backfired quickly as the site struggles to load all the images at once. So I’ve decided to make a dedicated blog series for my sketches. I think this is beneficial as I get to also talk about the process of my work, and also tag & categorise my sketches effectively
I got a cutting machine!
For my birthday a few weeks ago, I was gifted a Cricut cutting machine and made myself a Crash & Coco Bandicoot and Marina T-shirt. It was also my mum’s birthday a few days ago, and she loves Betty Boop, so I made her some stickers and a tote bag.
This machine alone has given me a wicked idea. I can’t wait to share it as soon as it’s ready!

Early this year, I made some concept sketches of two characters I’d love to make a game for, with the WIP names being Kelly & Akii. I want to start working on the game asap; however, I recently found out that my PC is 6+ years old and is struggling to run Unity. I also want to revisit an older idea of mine as an excuse to learn Unity before I make my most ambitious game to date, so the Kelly & Akii game will have to wait for now.

One thing I think I’d love to start doing is showcasing other artists in my Sketchdumps. Shout out to these talented artists, you should go check out their art as soon as you can!
Closing thoughts
I think the Sketchdump posts are a wonderful idea, it will encourage me to post my sketches & drafts consistently, talk about my insight, whilst wrapping up each post with unrelated news in my life
Talking about unreated news, I tried to request a lifestyle break at my retail job, but it got shut down because I’m self-employed/have a 2nd job, which is news to me! X’D
I even tried to plead my case, but they were having none of it. The only reason I applied for a lifestyle break is to avoid the Christmas chaos that will ensue in the coming months.
Christmas shift #7 incoming, or will I have the courage and jump ship? Guess we’ll find out soon…
Also, not that important, but I recently migrated TECKGECK.COM from WordPress’s own servers to VeeroTech, so if you notice my site acting a bit differently than normal, then that’s why.
