Tesco-Chan 2025 + Life update
28th October 2025Salutations! As promised in the previous post, here is Tesco-Chan again:
This time around, I wanted to put a spin on how I drew Tesco-Chan; I changed the colour of her shirt and tie, I also gave her headphones similar to the ones you’d see Tesco employees wear on the check-outs.
I love revisiting characters I haven’t drawn in years. It really does give you a perspective on how much one has grown in their abilities (to be fair, the Tesco-Chan I drew in 2022 was just a coloured sketch).
I actually drew her another time before, I doodled her on the overtime board. However, I got told off for it (totally worth it XD). I so wish I had taken a photo of it and included it here.
The character originally belongs to both Stratosfire and TeethHoarder.
Life Update
So, a few days ago marked my last day at my retail job; it was such a difficult decision that I feel like I’ve been wanting to make for years. I pretty much loved working with 85% of all the people there and stayed for over 7+ years because of that alone!
As a farewell present for the people I worked with, I decided to give away Tesco-Chan stickers as gifts! I was also given gifts from my fellow work chums:
I feel like I have to make this very clear that I DID NOT sell these stickers and they were given away as gifts as;
1) Tesco-Chan was not originally designed by me, as stated above
2) Perhaps even bigger is that I don’t wanna get into legal trouble with the Tesco brand at all
So going forward, I am now a full-time freelancer (till I find another job at least), so my main priority right now is to clean up and finalise my commission services and focus on my online stores on this site and my brand new one over at TECKGECK.NET.
So far, I’ve managed to successfully sell some of my services locally. I am fully aware of the risk of becoming a full-time freelancer, but at the same time, I’d rather take on the risk than be trapped at a dead-end job for the rest of my life.
I’m about to embark on a brand new journey, and I’m both nervous and excited at the same time! Let’s get this started!
